Gear for peaks

Hello everyone, with regards to the Peaks trip this weekend, I was wondering
a) When the bus leaves and from where, and
b) If anyone has or knows someone with some spare gear, as at the moment I plan on creating a sleeping bag out of my horrendous duvet and getting a new one for my bed when I get back.

When I say creating, I probably mean wrapping myself in the aforementioned £7.97 polyester abomination and asking someone to go around it a couple of times with electrical tape. This will also suffice as a sleeping mat.

I can hear you saying "why don't you just get a sleeping bag, they're not that expensive". The main reason is that after this trip, I will have a decent justification for buying a new duvet, and unless you've spent the last month or so sleeping on these itchy, rough, entirely unworthy bed coverings you wouldn't know. Bed is one of my favorite places to be, and it's completely ruined because every time I'm in it I am reminded of how I didn't spend the extra three pounds and get something at least made of cotton.

So I'm going to use the duvet as a sleeping bag, and the cheapness which has haunted me for the past month will be no more! I think it's a fair price to pay for two (further) poor nights of sleep. So I don't really mind if I can't find a sleeping bag and roll mat, but if anyone has a spare torch, I'd be interested in that. I can be contacted on 07717078976.

Save our rights of way petition

Not wanting to sound cliche, but I'm really not one for passing on 'forward' type emails, however...
Apparently:
Current legislation IS going through parliament which aims to bar access for walkers and others, to many of the Rights of Way we presently enjoy.

A petition is being raised on the government's no10 site to stop this.

The long and short of it is that, if we don't act NOW, our options for safe, off-road walking will rapidly diminish and once they're gone, they are lost forever.

Please use the link below and sign the petition. The site will ask you a couple of contact questions; it will then send you an automatic response which, when you click back on, will register your petition against these closures.

Unfortunately the drink was Strongbow but nobody seemed to mind! Hope you all had fun, we need to get those pictures and videos I made you take up on the website . Was especially impressed with Paul's video of his team on the silver slide (even though the slide had been sabotaged earlier by a certain individual). I thought it seemed like a fun social even though I couldn't take part.

I have to object to Martin's claims that with couples, either both or neither go to socials/lunch etc! Alex went to the Whitez social aaaall by himself, because despite apparent popular belief, we are two separate, independent people

About the bowling social in particular - I don't really like bowling, it just seems like you go to chat to your friends but then get interrupted every now and then to bowl! But that's just my opinion... lots of people like it Laserzone is fun, but whether I go on socials depends on how much time I have/how awake I am after a long day at uni. I think at this time of year in particular people might be a bit busy to come to lots of socials.

Amy - I think if no-one turns up it must just be a coincidence... At least, I'm not aware of any evil plotting among older club members!

Kat - you definitely have far more people skills than a mouldy sandwich would have! As far as I can tell, you're doing a very good job of being chairperson (I like the mouldy sandwich phrase though!)
